Personal Statement

 By Appointment

The country life soon turned metropolitan with my enrollment in the university and, inevitably, the real world replaced college life. The old portable typewriter eventually gave way to electric typewriters and the age of computers. Yet my passion for creative writing remained strong. When a business opportunity arose to practice personal and professional writing and editing services, I felt excited and honored to work in this manner with clients ranging from highly accomplished professionals to hopeful young individuals just starting out in their life’s calling.

The true self is the divine manifesting intself in our uniqueness, in our talents, in our personal history, in our cultural conditioning.(Thomas Keating)

Born and raised in the hills and countryside of Pennsylvania, I have always had a love of writing. As a young girl, I would take my grandfather’s old portable typewriter out to my secret garden, park the typewriter on an orange crate and myself on a stool in front of it, and create stories.

It is always a privilege to be trusted with the confidential sharing of people’s life stories and  collaborate in documenting personal histories and hopes, abilities and achievements, experiences and expectations. Personal, creative writing opens doors to the future for every human being, enabling young and old—and those in the middle--to be vitally connected, to contribute to society. It is my joy to lend this talent in helping others reach their goals and improve their lives through effective written expressions.

Writing came naturally to me, and it was fun. In high school, grammar and writing classes were my favorites, and the teachers who inspired me to read and understand the dictionary were forever imprinted in my soul.

I was lying on the grass, thinking of nothing in particular, when a maple leaf settled beside me and laughed in the friendliest fashion.  You have no idea what a pleasant hour we spent together.

  (Melville Cane)

Laughter is wine for the soul.
